The Chiswick Calendar General Election Debate

The Chiswick Calendar is five years old this week.

Who’d have thought when we launched the website that we’d have three general elections in five years?

We’ll be holding an election debate with three of the candidates in the election for the Brentford & Isleworth constituency on Tuesday 26 November in the Boston Room of George IV, at 7.30pm (doors open 7.00pm).

Political journalist Peter Oborne will chair this debate between Ruth Cadbury for Labour, Seena Shah for the Conservatives and Helen Cross for the Lib Dems.

Will this election be decided on what people think of Brexit or on a raft of other policies?

Will their unequivocal stance on Brexit and the shift away from the moderate centre in both the Labour and the Conservative parties give the Lib Dems their best chance ever? Or will they once again be condemned to ‘also ran’ status because of our first past the post system?

Come and hear each of the candidates questioned about their views on the main issues of the campaign. There will be time for a Q&A with the audience at the end of the debate.

We are a Community Interest Company and we’re making a small charge for tickets just to cover our costs.

Please note, this is not a hustings but an election event. We don’t have every party standing represented because we want a chance to question in depth those candidates with the greatest chance of winning, according to previous election poll results.

Our events sell out – please book tickets in advance to avoid disappointment. Book tickets here
