The Chiswick Calendar’s autumn art & photography exhibition 2026

The Chiswick Calendar is holding its annual autumn art exhibition at the Clayton Hotel on Chiswick High Rd. Opening on Sunday 27 September and continuing until Saturday 14 November, the exhibition shows the work of artists who live locally.

The work is hung in the atrium of the hotel, which is open to the public all the time, so pop in and have a look whenever suits you and have a coffee in the Clayton Hotel’s bar.

We are also having a launch party on Wednesday 7 October at 7.00 pm.

‘The Headland’s Garden St Ives’ by Annabel Hill

Annabel Hill

Annabel trained at the University of Reading and has a BA(Hons) in Fine Art and History of Art. Balancing the figurative and abstract, Annabel’s gestural painterly style gives a suggestion of a scene, recalling memories of the hot summer focusing on the north coast of Cornwall and The Peak District. Recently she has been working on a series of vibrant semi abstract floral paintings.

‘Clouds Roll: Barnes’ by Arabella Harcourt-Cooze

Arabella Harcourt-Cooze

After many years of painting the river Thames, its ever-changing weather and tidal waters, Arabella has become increasingly drawn to the cacophony of architecture along its banks. She doesn’t want to ignore the decades layered upon decades of buildings and boats and barges: cranes standing as a testament to continuing work and the accumulated hours of human labour, the beauty of the countless reflecting windows, and the river runs on.

‘Contemplative (pregnant woman)’ by Charlotte Eldridge

Charlotte Eldridge

West London artist Charlotte Eldridge specialises in colourful, characterful oil portraits. With a Fine Art degree and a fascination with faces, she creates distinctive work celebrating people, relationships and meaningful moments in time.

‘Peacock in Bloom’ by Deborah Brown

Deborah Brown

Deborah is a London based stained-glass artist who creates vibrant contemporary glass panels inspired by nature and architectural forms, pushing copper-foil techniques to craft modern, enduring heirloom panels.

Chiswick Flyover, Late evening by Helena Butler

Helena Butler

Helena loves to see the beauty in something ordinary like a motorway flyover or bridge caught in car headlights at night, the way shadows and light distort which is so interesting.

‘Alhambra Gardens 2’ by Jan Anil

Jan Anil

Jan paints both imagined worlds and real places, inspired by Monet, Gaudí and nature. He works impressionistically to capture light and atmosphere, implying detail for the viewers’ imagination.

‘Flowers and fruit’ by Jennifer Abbott

Jennifer Abbott

Still life oil, acrylic and watercolour paintings including flowers, fruit and vegetables by an ex ‘Mad-Men’ advertising art director and illustrator.

‘Blue’ by Jenny Price

Jenny Price

Jenny is a British contemporary artist who lives and works in London. Stories and feelings are translated into landscapes and images, using acrylic and weave.

‘Amber tide’ painting by Kathryn Davey

Kathryn Davey

Kathryn works intuitively with layered oils, from knife work to pours, creating textured, dynamic surfaces. Inspired by landscapes, she explores colour, transparency and depth to evoke an immersive sense of place. Light shifts across each piece, revealing new impressions up close and from afar, balancing contrasts to evoke harmony.

‘Permutations 5’ by Martina Rohr

Martina Rohr

Martina’s series of paintings explores the interrelationship of three-dimensional objects, creating an arena for geometrical shapes to open the viewer’s eyes to obscure pathways and planes echoing of one another through changes of light and colour.

‘Stairwell By Night’ by Pat Meagher

Pat Meagher

This Chiswick Calendar exhibition features photographs taken by Irish photographer Pat Meagher at night in Central London. Whilst most of his work features people in spaces, this set of photographs shows grabbed slices of light taken on 35mm Cinestill film.

‘Low tide at Strand’ by Pierre Fowell

Pierre Fowell

Pierre is an artist working mainly with oils and acrylics but also with pastels and conte. His background as a practicing architect in Chiswick for over 50 years naturally steers his subject matters to local urban landscapes but also he enjoys figurative drawing and portraiture. He works in plein air and from sketch books and photography and tries to capture atmosphere and movement in his work.

‘Libra the Balancing Snails’ by Sally Grumbridge

Sally Grumbridge

Sally is a painter and printmaker whose work encompasses cultural, historical and personal themes. She teaches printmaking locally and exhibits regularly in London, the UK and overseas. She has a BA in Public Art and studied printmaking at UAL.

‘Priest Hut’ by Sarah Granville

Sarah Granville

Sarah’s work draws on her interest in architecture and landscape. Her prints and paintings are exhibited with the RE at Bankside Gallery, and with the NEAC at Mall Galleries. She lives and works in West London.

‘Hatched Sphere 2’ by Sebastian Bergne

Sebastian Bergne

Sebastian’s work is recognised for crossing the worlds of the object, painting and art multiples, using the recognisable language of the utilitarian made poetic. It is included in several museum collections worldwide.

Sonja Kennedy

Sonja’s textured gold-embellished paintings capture fleeting moments inspired by her daily walks and travels. Exploring the transience of the seasons and sunlight, she finds connections between us and the natural world.
