A sample of Chiswick’s vibrant art scene
Chiswick has an abundance of artists and The Chiswick Calendar celebrates their work twice a year with an exhibition at the Clayton hotel.
This spring we are introducing some new artists into the mix. The exhibition of oils and watercolours, photography and mixed media, will run from Monday 2 March through to Saturday 18 April. You can see the art at any time, as it is on show in the atrium 24/7 and you can buy a coffee or a meal in the hotel bar.
The hotel is a member of our Club Card scheme, offering 10% off food and drink, Monday to Friday, up to 7pm. Contact us at info@thechiswickcalendar.co.uk if you would like to buy anything in the exhibition.

Jim Cox
After a career in architecture and town planning Jim graduated in Fine Art from The University of East London. While his art practice has embraced a variety of fields, painting has always remained at its core.

Laura Gompertz
Laura’s paintings celebrate colour and shape in the every day. She has a degree in Theatre Design from Nottingham Trent and alongside her painting career she has designed for theatre and interiors.

Jennifer Griffiths
Award winning photographer, Jennifer captures urban and rural scenes, exploring humanity’s relationship with nature and revealing everyday beauty through her lens. Jennifer’s work has been sold across the world.

Naila Hazell
Naila is the RSA Winner of Lyon & Turnbull Award 2021. Her speciality is portraits, often painting people in busy London bars and markets. Growing up in Baku, Azerbaijan, she was taught by renowned Soviet social realism painter Boyuk agha Mirzazade for her MA at the Azerbaijani Fine Arts Academy.

Jane Juritz
Jane loves using pastels to try and capture the colours of the sea and the sky particularly in the early evening light. She also works in oils for portraits, landscapes and abstract work.
All Gone Up In Smoke
Madeleine Marsh
Madeleine is a multi-media artist, making jewellery, sculpture and other decorative pieces. A west Londoner, she has mud-larked the Thames and canals for many years and much of her work is made from found and vintage objects, which she uses both to explore the past and to make us think about the present. All her creations tell a story and her work can be found in collections across the world.

Polly Nuttall
Polly studied at Winchester and St Martin’s School of Art. Working as an artist and teacher, her exhibitions include New English Art Club and The Discerning Eye.

Karin Perrin
Karin’s paintings aim to capture memories of places and paths, from temperate rain forests to glorious sunrises worldwide, hoping to capture the transience and beauty of our planet and our connection to it.

Jane Price
Jane’s landscapes are invariably sparked and framed by a single item of interest.
Nature provides juxtapositions of shapes that she uses in her mark making that is an evolutionary process.
Slow Waters
Lucy Price
Lucy creates light infused, meditative semi abstract landscapes. She is a graduate of Chelsea College of Art (UAL) and frequently exhibits in and around West London.
Still Life With Pears
Jill Revie
Jill paints colourful, Matisse-inspired still life in her Chiswick studio, and townscapes based on drawings in her travel sketchbooks from Venice, Morocco and English coastal towns.

Louise Richards
Louise invites viewers to reconsider domestic objects, elevating functionality into vibrant, contemporary art filled with wit and visual rhythm.

Sena Shah
Sena’s distinctive art stands out through geometric abstraction, optical effects and bold colours. Working mainly with felt fabric and reflective materials he creates art that shifts with the observer’s movement to offer a dynamic visual experience through the interplay of texture, light, geometry, movement and colour. Sena has art in several galleries including his studio in Hammersmith.

Carol Tait
As a painter Carol’s favourite medium is oil, predominantly landscapes as the possibilities are endless, and with oils she can build and rework until she gets the feeling she wants.

Mariyana Tasheva
Through her lens, Mariyana captures the wonder of the wild — a passion born from many journeys across national parks. Her photography celebrates the beauty of nature while inspiring its preservation. Mariyana donates a portion of her print sales to charities that support people in need of life-saving care.

Peter Thornborough
Brought up in Australia, Peter studied Fine Art at East Sydney College of Art. He has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, in one-man shows and group exhibitions in Europe, in various galleries in and around London. Peter has also undertaken commissions from the US and Europe.
