When Chiswick resident Alan Weavis contracted a serious illness in 2024, he had to learn how to navigate life in a wheelchair.

He was shocked to find how many businesses are hard, or impossible to get into in a wheelchair, and has made it his mission to persuade traders to give it some thought.

He designed a ‘Wheelchair happy’ sticker and is visiting as many businesses as he can, to encourage them to put one in the window if their premises are wheelchair accessible. Here are the results: businesses in Chiswick which he has found easy to access.
