Three boys arrested after knife attack in Chiswick

A student from Chiswick School has been injured in a knife attack at St Thomas Estate in Grove Park.

The sixteen year old was attacked around 4.00 pm on Tuesday 26 March, according to the Metropolitan Police, and has injuries which they say are not life-threatening or life-changing.

When the Police arrived, they found the boy on Sutton Court Road with injuries to his leg. He was treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service paramedics and taken to hospital.

The Police have made three arrests. A 15-year-old boy was arrested the same day on suspicion of Grievous Bodily Harm with intent to cause injury. Two other boys, both aged 14, were also arrested the same day on suspicion of Violent Disorder. They have since been bailed, pending further enquiries.

Cllr Peter Thompson, Leader of the Conservative Group and councillor for Chiswick Riverside, commented:

“As a teacher myself, I know firsthand how incidents like this affect a school community. Even where injuries are not fatal, the emotional impact on pupils, staff and parents can be very significant.

“Schools work incredibly hard to create a safe and calm environment for young people, and when something like this happens, it is felt far beyond those directly involved. Our thoughts are with everyone at Chiswick School.

“It is also a sobering reminder that knife crime remains a real and serious problem in London. Too many families worry about the risks young people face, and incidents like this bring that fear painfully close to home.”
