Waitrose in Chiswick closes for refurbishment

Store will close this Friday and reopen in eight weeks’ time

Waitrose in Chiswick is closing for refurbishment for a period of eight weeks.

The store on Chiswick High Road will close at 5.00 pm on Friday 23 January and is set to reopen on Thursday 19 March at 8am.

A spokesperson for Waitrose told The Chiswick Calendar:

“Waitrose is committed to a nationwide investment plan, including an exciting refresh of our Chiswick store. During the refit, customers can continue to shop on Waitrose.com and at Waitrose East Sheen.”

“London has always been home to Waitrose and central to our success”

The £1bn expansion programme has already seen a new Waitrose opened at Wandsworth New Acre last October – a 2,500 sq ft ‘Little Waitrose’ convenience shop built in a new neighbourhood development, as well as a refresh for convenience shops in Crouch End and Old Brompton Road and upgrade to the supermarket in Coulsdon. Customers at Waitrose Marylebone now enjoy ‘enhanced’ meat and fish counters.

The company opened its first shop in Acton and with the latest addition in Wandsworth, now has 62 stores in the capital. To keep up with the demand for home deliveries across the capital, Waitrose has two Customer Fulfilment Centres in Coulsdon and Greenford, delivering online orders purchased through Waitrose.com.

“London has always been home to Waitrose and central to our success” – Tina Mitchell, Interim Managing Director, Waitrose.

Waitrose says it is investing in every shop nationwide, from refurbishments to new openings. The £1 billion, multi-year programme is designed to deliver ‘the very best products, service and shops for customers’.
