Wren Kitchens & Bedrooms opens first high street showroom in Chiswick

Brand-new showroom on Chiswick High Road opens on Friday 13 June

The new store, at 414 Chiswick High Road, is Wren’s 116th UK showroom, and the first of its kind to open on a high street. Usually their showrooms are at out of town drive-to locations.

Wren Chiswick showroom manager, Mahdih Bikdeli Soltani, said:

“We’re thrilled to be opening in such a vibrant and well-connected area, especially as this will be our very first high-street showroom.

“This new format gives local homeowners a more accessible way to experience the latest in kitchen and bedroom design, right in the heart of Chiswick.”

Spanning over 6,000 sq. ft, the showroom features 17 kitchen and 11 bedroom displays, including six virtual reality planning suites where customers can see their new  bedroom or kitchen come to life.

“Our displays have been thoughtfully designed to reflect how real people live, while our VR technology and room configurators make planning your space easier, more immersive and more exciting than ever before”, Mahdih said.

In addition to kitchens and bedrooms, Wren also offers a design service to help customers plan home offices, walk-in wardrobes, boot rooms and utility rooms. The Chiswick showroom will include a range of displays showcasing frontals, handles, worktops, flooring, tiling, sinks and taps.

When homeowners are ready to plan a design, the showroom’s designers will help create a free 3D plan and quote.

With stores in Acton, Staples Corner and Hayes, Wren say they are looking forward to expanding its West London presence to Chiswick.

“We can’t wait to welcome our first customers through the doors”, Mahdih added.

Joining up the High Road

“It is excellent that we are at last seeing occupation of the units in that area between the core High Street and the area west of Acton Lane”, Chiswick property agent Jeremy Day told The Chiswick Calendar.

The area around the Empire House development opposite Turnham Green has had empty shops for years.

It suffered ‘planning blight’ when objections to the development led to the developer putting the site on the back burner and small retailers around that area of the High Road suffered as a result, as Daniel Beds, Carpet Right and a string of smaller retailers gradually closed and the premises stayed empty.

Businesses at the western end of Chiswick High Road do not get the footfall of those in the centre. The assistant manager of Cotswold Outdoor, which is closing in August, told The Chiswick Calendar: “It’s not in the best area, it is a bit out of the way”.

Daniel Beds vacated its premises some time ago

Jeremy, who is the commercial director for Whitman & Co., told us Wren’s decision to open here was a positive sign for retailers at the western end of the High Road, and in the wake of the M&S investment, the arrival of Crew Clothing and the imminent arrival of The White Company, showed an encouraging level of interest from major retail operators in Chiswick.

“Hopefully there will be more”, he said.
