A musical by Jeremy Paul, Michael Richmond and Nola York

From the award-winning director Keith Strachan that brought you Next Door’s Baby and About Bill comes a revival of the smash hit farcical musical comedy The Lady or The Tiger.

A princess with a taste for adventure falls head over heels for a wandering minstrel. But wait – Daddy Dearest, aka the king, isn’t exactly thrilled about his daughter’s taste in soulful troubadours. He whips up a trial with an impossible choice for the princess. Two doors for the minstrel: marriage to a beautiful lady or a date with a tiger. What would you do?!

It’s a choose-your-own-adventure where the only guarantee is hilarity – and maybe a lesson or two about love, fate, and the perils of leaving your princess daughter unattended.

Adapted from the popular short story by Frank R Stockton, the story hinges on an imponderable seemingly unanswerable ‘Catch 22’ question. This musical adaptation first premiered at the Orange Tree Theatre in 1975, playing to packed houses before transferring to the West End’s Fortune Theatre.

Four fabulous actors take to the Tabard stage including, playing the tyrannical King, West End actor Mark Turnbull who played Jean Valjean in Les Miserables at the Palace Theatre. The downtrodden Factotum is played by Bob Karper, a musical actor from Chicago whose solo shows have won the Empty Space and Standing Ovation Awards. And completing the cast are Juan Lobo (Great Gatsby Musical) as our wandering Hero and Georgie Rodgers (The Importance of Being Earnest) as the adventurous Princess.
