Heartwarming tales for under sixes, with faulous illustrations

Kim Ansell and Lisa Read, two sisters who live in Chiswick, brought out their first children’s book Frederick the Fox, two years ago. The combination of the endearing characters and heartwarming tale told in Kim’s rhyming verse, and Lisa’s beautiful illustrations made it an instant success.

Now they have brought out their next book: Maximus the Mouse, on sale in Chiswick’s independent bookshop, Bookcase. Dan Coombes has been privileged to preview it for The Chiswick Calendar.

Chiswick – based writing, illustrating and publishing duo Inky Flamingo – a.k.a Kim Ansell and Lisa Read – wowed us two years ago with rather lovely children’s tale Frederick The Fox, and now they’ve done it again with the absolutely gorgeous Maximus The Mouse!

More catchy rhymes, beautiful illustrations (seriously, just look at them) and an endearing message of friendship to boot.

Travel to the corners of Bear’s wildest imagination as he searches for a birthday present for Maximus the Mouse. With so many wondrous ideas but none of them quite right, will he be able to find the perfect gift before the big day?
