New all day restaurant from the owner of The Silver Birch opens on Chiswick High Road with a great discount to locals as a member of The Chiswick Calendar’s Club Card scheme

Brook & Green, the new Chiswick restaurant from Tim Price, is set to open its doors at 142 Chiswick High Road on Thursday 24 September.

Unlike Tim’s previous restaurant, the highly regarded Silver Birch, Brook & Green will be a ‘neighbourhood’ restaurant open all day serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

“We want people to come back because they feel they belong”, Tim told The Chiswick Calendar.

Designed by B3 Designers, it has been conceptualised as much for regulars popping in for coffee as for a table booked weeks in advance, creating somewhere to return to throughout the week rather than only for occasions.

The food will be a mix of crowd-pleasing Mediterranean, British and Asian dishes with the emphasis on “quality and consistency rather than spectacle”. Tim’s aim is that customers should find they could eat most of the things on the menu.

There will also be a ‘wine room’ downstairs in the basement, a ‘relaxed space’ where you can choose a bottle from the cellar to drink with nibbles – charcuterie, olives and cheese.

“We wanted to build somewhere Chiswick actually needs – not a destination people save for a special occasion, but a place they walk past and think, ‘let’s just go in’. Good food, done properly, without any fuss around it. If people come back because it feels like theirs, we’ve done our job.”

On the demise of The Silver Birch he told me:

“I loved what we achieved with The Silver Birch. I was sad to see it go, but time has moved on”.

Tim is a trained chef himself but does not plan to be in the kitchen “unless there’s a panic”. After changing career he trained at Leith’s cookery school and spent a year in various kitchens before opening The Silver Birch in 2020.

Prices at Brook & Green are competitive: in the range of £8 – £10 for a starter, £18 – £25 for a main course.

Breakfast runs from 8.00 am until 11.30am on weekdays and 12.30pm at weekends, with the all-day menu taking over from midday through to 11.00 pm Monday to Thursday and midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Sundays are brunch and lunch only, closing at 6.00 pm. The wine room opens from 5.00 pm.
